timing on blown 3.5

Post by minter »

hi guys,,

wanting a few suggestions from you guys on want sort of timing to run,,
i have a 3.5 with 471 blower,, i have the msd timing boost master ignition retard on board too. blower runs at 7psi with pretty much standard bottom end with girdle plate,, heads are standard and runs a 600cfm edelbrock.
as it stands,, i did take it on rollers when motor was brand new just to set carb up on cruise pretty much and only took it to 4000rpm, we didnt put timing light or anything on it as we were happy with it to run in,,,
now the engine has had a good run in i'm sure it could benefit with a bit more timing in there to wake it up,, what sort of timing you guys run? best results?

cheers guys.

For a safe starting point retard by 1 degree per psi of boost. This is at max advance at high engine revs with all the mech advance in.
