Can anyone recommend a good book that will give me the basics on building a supercharger system? There seem to be many available on amazon but would prefer your recommendations please :D

The big thick dark green green one is excellent (forced induction performance tuning)- if you have about 8 years to read it! It also covers stuff like changing the water flow through the block etc for extra cooling etc, it will take you ages to find what you want though! If you want a basics one then the street supercharging one is good and covers most stuff and also runs through about every type of blower made and their history.
