I currently run a standard Rover v8 from a 1976 SD1. The only major difference being K&N filters on the elbows of a plenum chamber.
I am presently having the carbs reconditioned and wondering where to start with new needles for the carb setup.
They originally had BAK needles fitted and found that I had to run quite rich at idle to have decent performance / without spitting back through the carbs on acceleration.
I realise that needles likely need changing again going forwards after the reconditioning, but if anyone had any views as a starting point.
Thanks

As no one has any thoughts yet... the stock needles should be fine.
I would be checking that you have the right ignition timing, right fuel pressure - 2.4psi - the correct dashpot springs, and the correct oil in the dashpots.
