How to identify my carb?

Post by mr_s »

As I'm a curious sort of chap, I'd like to know exactly what carb is on my new (to me) pickup. It's got a 400 cubic inch SBC engine in it and it's got an Edelbrock carb on it. How do I tell what model of carb it is? Should there be a model number on it somewhere?

Cheers, Martin

there will be a stamped number on the lower front left hand flange where it mounts to the manifold. Get the number and look it up here http://www.edelbrock.com/automotive_new ... main.shtml . Depending on what it is it will probably be a 14XX or 18XX number.
