Engine Machining Work.

Post by CastleMGBV8 »

Can anyone recommend a competent machine shop within easy reach of south London for cylinder head and general engine work.

I need some work done on a pair of alloy Buick 300 heads, basicly replacing the ex. valve seats fitting new shortened and bulleted valve guides and opening up the valve throats to match the valve sizes.

The ports on the 300 heads are much larger and of a better shape than the standard Rover heads, so internally all they need is deburring and shaping the valve guide casting stubs. The standard In. valve is 1.7" and ex.1.34" but I'll replace these with 1.4" to improve the flow on the exhaust side and of course a three angle valve job.

Oh and somebody who doesn't charge Formula 1 prices would be good.

Kevin.

Have heard Turner engineering are also good, they are in Lingfield, specialise in anything V8 or land rover.

If you use them, will you let me know how you get on?
