That is a Rover part no. Rimmers use the Rover numbers, which is handy as some parts don't appear on their website, but if you use the 'Prices' page you can just stick in any old rover part no, and they might have it!

thankyou chris ,
the next thing i'm after is the higher ratio 5th gear pair , the box i have now has the 36/20 set which gives me 0.833:1 and i'm after the later 37/19 which will give me the 0.77:1

Bodger,

Real Steel have them in stock £8.08!.

Re you fifth gear set the ratios quoted on my spec sheets give the early set as .82/1 and the later which I have as .78/1 which gives me 2256RPM at 70MPH, the .82 would give 2371RPM at 70MPH so not a lot of difference.

This is with a 3.07 diff and 195/65 x 15" tyres.

the ratios that i quoted are for the box i have with the 22/33 primary set
which then gives a conversion factor of 1.5 ... so that 19 divided by 37 times 1.5 then gives me the 0.77:1

i'm only changing them because it's a TR7 box that i have got and as it's stripped i might as well do it

all the other ratios are SD1 V8 spec , it just has the earlier 20/36 5th gear

i'll check "real steel" on monday , thanks for that Kevin

this is in my van remember i dream of 70 at 2300 revs ..lol

Bodger,

Yes your down near Erith, your rocker covers are going on to my new engine once I get them cleaned and polished.

If it's broke then you may as well fix it. If I remember corrrectly you had a spare late LT77 with the larger main input shaft, that should have the higher 5th ratio. If you still have it check the number in the sticky gearbox numbers.

Bodger,

If you can tell me the rear axle ratio and the tyre size I can give you the exact MPH/RPM.
