GST = Goods & Services Tax - approx 10%

The you have to add shipping.

Currently about 1 AU Dollar = 0.43 Pounds Sterling

I figure what I'm after = $825 + GST = $908 = £390 plus shipping, about half what i'd figured. Add approx 30% for import, probably looking at about 600-650 quid?

Isn't Aussie GST the same as our VAT and if you're an export customer you shouldn't have to pay it :?:

Shouldn't have to pay Oz tax, but will pay purchase + 5% duty (or 10% - seems a bit hit & miss as to what you actually get charged), plus postage, then 17.5% on the whole lot. UK courier may well add a 'handling charge' or 'clearance fee', usually around a tenner.
