If you link the blue and the black wires together you should get a spark if the module is working, it by-passes the optical sensor.
The other thing to do is make sure it's got a good earth.

Hi
I've just done the tests on my unit.
I have 7.5 volts on the red wire.
2.6 volts between the blue and black wires when beam not interrupted and 0.8 volts when it is interrupted.
Did you try joining the blue and the back wires at the connector?

I had a TR7, sometimes the engine wouldn't fire. Eventually found the ignition switch was faulty and not always powering the coil. If I remember correctly the ignition light didn't come on either.

Don't know about the Holley, but I had the same problem when I changed my SU's for an Edelbrock. The fix was to put a PCV inline between the flametrap and port I used on the carb, only cost a couple of quid from Reel Steel.

Hi
If you're using SU's, don't forget to put the choke on.
Don't ask how I know about that

This is with an Offenhauser manifold? I wonder if there are any special features of that manifold. I think some pics of the hoses might be helpful as it might be that there's an error in the plumbing. Chris. I have an Offenhauser manifold. My pipework on the mainfold is, the small pipe on the rear ...

I have a picture from a Haynes manual, but can't see how to upload it to a reply. It is just as Robin described and once the clamp is removed it should pull out ( mine did) as it's just sealed by an 'O' Ring.

Hi My ETB sender has two connections on it one for the pressure gauge and one for a light, have you got the wires the correct way round? I've just had my engine apart and rebuilt it, I packed the pump with vaseline, the gauge barely moved on the starter, but went straight up to 35PSI as soon as it f...

Sumps

Hi I'm about to swap the 1977 3.5 SD1 engine in my car for a 1993 3.9 Range Rover engine. I will change the front cover to use the lower SD1 water pump, I wondered if the sumps are different as well, if it's taller then I'll have to swap that as ground clearance is a bit of a problem. Guess that wou...

Have you spoken to Chimeara on the Cobra forum? He builds Sumo's and AK's for a living. Very helpful chap, I know he does sidepipes so would think he does manifolds as well.

We SVA'd a Cobra just before the switch to IVA. It had straight through sidepipes, which were painfully load  . We ended up making a baffle to fit inside the pipes. You have to make sure the tester can still put the emission tester in the pipe, and it doesn't appear to be a temporary fix. See...
