The heads have the same bowl size so compression will stay at the p6 ratio,unless theve been skimmed. SD1 heads have bigger valves and better porting so are a worthwhile swap. Well i`ve not been able to get a definative answer so cut about 5 mm off the shaft so height is same as the early electronic dizzy i`ve got.The rotor arm still pushes on the shaft ok and I just need to fit and test it now.
UPDATE.Rigged modded dizzy to an American hei module,works a treat.

Has anyone come across 'universal` steel rocker arms made by a company called FAI.
The part number is R815.
They are not handed but are straight.I`ve no idea if their anygood so any info would be appreciated.

When you say your RR flywheel has been lightened has the clutch face been turned down?I don`t want to have it explode as its took me ages to get an sd1 bellhousing.(I don`t fancy losing part of my legs either)!Engine will never go beyond 6000rev/min.

Does anyone have an sd1 flywheel that they can measure the thickness of?from crankshaft face to clutch face is what i`m after please.

I only want to remove 5mm from clutch face so I dont have to relieve bellhousing.I`ll get it crack tested after.

Is it true that a range rover flywheel cant be machined to fit an sd1 bellhousing and be redrilled to suit an sd1 clutch as it will be seriously weakened?
