Well I have tried Burgess econotune heads, and stage 3 with bigger valves but self ported. Also merlin heads and now TA TRS heads. All on various engine sizes from 4.0L to 5.0L
I would say go with the stage 3 with bigger valves from personal experience.

Yes, the problem has been identified.
No5 inlet pushrod hole is slightly offset and when I cleaned the casting flash up I accidentally left the wall wafer thin resulting in a hole.
hopefully it is repairable with some ally welding.

ooops!

Yes no 5 plug oily as hell.
Have you the same issue with head gasket blocking oilways.
look down the hole with covers off.

I will take heads off at weekend to investigate.

how is yours running?

I have just spotted that the oil return holes from the head are half blocked by the head gasket. The TA head must have the drain back in a slightly different place. (heads still fitted)
Its not going to cause the problem but must cause oil to pool in the head.

From experience, the cam driven oil pump is not so good for high rev applications. Myself and two friends have all had the same problem that the shaft wears slightly allowing the gears to touch the side of the pump housing. This contact shaves off very small particles of ally which jam the pressure ...

Cold start enrichment advice.

To cut a long story short I have had a miserable time with the change from carb and dizzy to full throttle body engine management. It turned out to be mainly wiring problems but all sorted now. I have just fitted a new 5.0L engine with TA heads and am not confident that the guy that mapped it previo...

I have used Std Elring gaskets with a 96mm bore without problems.
Other than that V8 Developments sell 96mm gaskets.

Thanks JP
My jenveys have an air bypass valve on each one for adjustment. Presuming the butterflies should be fully closed and balance airflow with the bypass.
Just wondered if there was a certain procedure.

I have been tracking my V8 MGB for 15 years now and use wildwood superlite calipers. I have tried many types of pad with interesting results. The best pads by a huge margin I find are Carbotec XP8 / XP10 very expensive but worth every penny. They work from cold with consistent performance time and t...
