Just grind any name or size off flush?
If I was doing it again that's what I would do ๐Ÿ‘

Re: Equal length inlet tracts rv8 twin turbo

In the centre the GEMS and flapper plenums are the same height/clearence; I measured them. The difference is the GEMS top is square, and the flapper top tapers down so roughly keeps the same clearance above each inlet tube. But yes the total volume to the GEMS plenum would be slightly more than the...

Re: Equal length inlet tracts rv8 twin turbo

Normally Aspirated engines have the pressure of the column of atmosphere above then to push air into them - why they make less power at altitude, less air above them, less pressure. Forced induction motors have additional pressure from a pump to help push more air into them - similar to a NA engine...

Re: Equal length inlet tracts rv8 twin turbo

Well From the research I've done on old posts on this forum blended bases on n/a engines seem to perform better than standard trumpets ,maybe not quite as well as act carbon trumpets but still a improvement I've never seen any tests done on a forced induction with a blended base?? but as I've learnt...

You're worrying over nothing....keep it simple.

The short intake trumpets will work fine.
Thanks I just like to do things right first time
Hence all my stupid questions I've been asking on here

Re: Equal length inlet tracts rv8 twin turbo

Ok here's a few pictures of my plenum and how I made it it might explain why some solutions might not work Ok so here a picture of Thor throttle Body in font of a standard plenum as you can see it's far to heigh http://i613.photobucket.com/albums/tt211/nickshipmanmobile/FC97139D-14F7-4697-902B-90336...

Re: Equal length inlet tracts rv8 twin turbo

You might find this of use. http://www.wallaceracing.com/runnertorquecalc.php Hi Dave Thanks for that๐Ÿ‘ not wishing to sound to thick , I fear it might be over my head, I'm great at fabricating stuff etc but don't have a clue as what to put in half the boxes in the algorithm tables ,# of induction w...

Re: Equal length inlet tracts rv8 twin turbo

http://www.mez.co.uk/ms12-new.html What about a blended base as shown here? Ian I hadn't thought about one of those ๐Ÿ’ก, but looking at it I think because of my throttle body positioning I fear it will Be to close to bottom of my throttle body and would mask a lot of the opening, I might also loose t...

Re: Equal length inlet tracts rv8 twin turbo

I'm a bit worried about removing the trumpets compleatly as I've milled 10mm out my inlet manifold and 28mm off the bottom of the trumpet base so my inlet tracts are 38 mm shorter than probably anyone else ,we know a normal height plenum with a blended base works but if I had blended base with my 38...

Re: Equal length inlet tracts rv8 twin turbo

Thanks for the replies ,ok so Having equal intake runners is not important on a n/a motor, The plenum I'm modifying now has a forward facing Thor throttle body , the standard trumpet height and arrangement in my opinion is masking my throttle opening for it to flow from my throttle opening into the ...

Equal length inlet tracts rv8 twin turbo

Is having truly equal length inlet tracts any use on a forced induction rv8 , I came across an article on USA forum where a chap has cc'd his inlet manifold and trumpet base and Has found that the standard trumpet lengths are far from being correct , I've currently got my trumpets pulled out of the ...

Re: Coolant / engine temp senders

Thanks for that guys I'm going to scrap the single wire sender relocate it and fit a tr7 sender for the dash so hopefully it should read ok ish , and move the 2 wire sender so it won't foul the throttle body , thanks again everyone

Re: Coolant / engine temp senders

What engine is that from? If it's a Land Rover, then have a look at the RAVE manual for that model, they are pretty good manuals. Can be found here... http://www.d-lander.com/manuals/ Thanks for that I will have a look ๐Ÿ‘€ Mine is hrc2616 I've googled that and I looks like it's either a 3.9 Range Rov...

Re: Coolant / engine temp senders

The reason I need to know is because im going to be running stand Alone ecu I've also modified my inlet manifold to be a forward facing throttle body and need to move the twin terminal sender as it's in the way So was going to cut off and move it so it's not in the way while I'm at it I was going to...
