If you want a good strong mid range engine - Stage 3 heads and a H218 cam - High static compression ratio's with a high torque cam just creates a requirement for premium fuels 9.8 will be a good figure to aim for.

When I had my engine balanced recently I had to give accurate weights of all the piston assemblies - As these had all been matched as separate items and the rods also matched end to end it was not a problem to do. These weights are then used to make up weights to attach to the crank . http://www.eng...

Could be so many things - a couple of which

1. Pivot ball has pushed through the arm due to fatigue
2. Arm has fractured at the pivot.

A late P6 is perhaps the worst car version to start with - it has a low CR. CR is set mainly by the pistons. The Vitesse unit used 9.75 pistons - about as high as you can go with 95 octane on this engine. Injection heads are also the best standard version. Later heads don't cost much used. Having t...

Best advice would have to be to bin it. It's such and old design with so many flaws its a false economy to spend any money on it unless required for originality in a P6. If you want old school looks get a pre serp 3.9 - and dress it with the P6 ancillaries. With the later engines with the better cra...

Having spoken to a man who has cc'd hundreds of RV8 chambers the 14 bolts usually come up around 33.5cc give or take .5cc
- 7-8cc for a composite.

If going turbo it may be worth considering having the exhaust ports taken out a bit as they are quite restrictive.

Standard 14 bolt - large chamber heads Also bear in mind that as well as the piston bowl the pistons do not come all the way to the top of the bore. http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/dd87/Dutton_Andy/100_3967_zpsvqknuvsh.jpg http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/dd87/Dutton_Andy/100_3964_zpsvb3joaff.j...

There are a couple of posts on here about people using the wrong front cover gasket that blocks off the pick-up to the pump and creates that problem.
