Thanks; suspect I'm making this more difficult than it need be. Demon Tweeks do a short 1/8NPT gauge adaptor with a 1/8NPT side tap... I guess an 1/8NPT end on a -4 line is easier to source. I'll just keep the OEM M2x1.5 reducer in place as it's sat there happily enough since 1997 :)

Thanks for the Speedflow links - I'm trying to keep the number of joints to the minimum I can

The M20x1.5 is the receiving thread in the intermediate cover where the pressure sender sits (it has a 1/8NPT male thread but sits in a reducing adaptor - makes sense to me to lose that if poss) - so M20 male from engine to 1/8NPT female for sender, with AN-4 off to turbo...

Ok, so using the t-off method, I need a M20x1.5 male to 1/8npt female with an-4 male branch adaptor... er, I'm guessing that's a fairly unusual beast?

Re: Oil take off on a Serp RV8

Anyone care to tell me the options for this please? I'm guessing a sandwich plate on the filter housing could be used but see a couple of bungs up an the housing side too. Anything possible with them that might be neater? Options for what ? Sorry, oil take off for the turbo feed... thought the post...

Ok, thanks... confess to being a bit wary of the air/air intercoolers out there; seems to be a lot of tat about - anyone come to mind that does decent 'universal' stuff that will flow well and be reasonably robust? Wanting to use 63mm pipework...

Jury's still out on the filter (would be in the feed line), as there seems to be very divergent views (gather Subaru fitted one OEM at one time then recalled cars to remove), so I'll park for now. In the meantime, anyone any experience of PWR style barrel charge coolers? Seem comparatively expensive...

More oil supply Qs

Ok, so now have the turbo to hand - BB Gt35 - I'm intending AN-4 feed and AN-10 drain; any merit in using an in-line filter such as the Torques offerings?

I'm pretty meticulous with oil and filter changes, and also use a magnetic drain plug - is the filter more of a risk than a benefit?

Main thing make sure the drain is above the oil level and not in a area where it will get unduly "splashed" from the sump - i fitted mine opposite one of the big end journals. http://www.mez.co.uk/turbo6.html Why do you stress the 'above level' aspect Eliot? Been looking at this and there seem to b...

Thanks all. I did indeed mean something like a bulkhead connector... if I use a weld-on fitting it will fall off, guaranteed :) Was hoping to find something that kept the lock nut on the outside just to minimise the potential for bits dropping in the sump in event of failure... will have a gander at...

Right; next Q - anyone know of a good clamp in oil return adaptor? Thinking of something like a -10 fitting that will push through from the inside to the outside of the sump and be sealed and secured with a nut on the outside. I imagine someone will do something but have not turned up yet...?

Now to wastegates and oil feeds...

Ok, have plumped for the turbo as discussed above and broadly know where I'm going but, inevitably, further queries arise.... Want to use a front mounted intercooler in the nose void ahead of the rad in a Chimaera. For various reasons, it would be good to have the inlet for this in top with the outl...

Righto; again that's good info and appreciated - last one for this evening, I currently use a single wideband lambda probe in the 'Y' piece that collects the two banks... with the layout I have in mind, keeping this location would put the probe directly upstream of the turbo and right in the vicinit...
