Hi markmills2000uk , I'd say that'll run your RV8 just fine. Two things worth looking at though: a wideband O2 (lambda) sensor to help fine-tune those maps, and it would be worth asking the seller about triggers and ignition control on your V6 if that's a future plan (fuel only is fairly easy, which...

Are you using the Patrol off-road? It might be worth looking at the Truck Avenger line... 470 or 670 CFM.

Hi demo2,

Some useful Holley tips here, and the Holley Tech Library here.

The Holley Carb Tech PDF is here.

750 does sound pretty big for a non-race offroader.

I'll get the ball rolling with the VEMS schpeel. :) Tony (thev8kid) has got one on his RV8 Capri, and I've got one on my 301ci Range Rover. Both of these are being run as fuel-only controllers, but most people run waste-spark ignition - if you have a later engine with cam and crank sensors, ignition...

Works fine for me. More pics / diagrams would be nice, but overall it's a very useful paper you've written. :)

Local LR shops should be able to read the codes easily (and cheaply) enough, no? Sensor value ranges are in the service manual too, IIRC. Map changing is a trickier business, but there are cheap and programmable devices that can alter MAF readings in a useful way - eg, here and here . Of course, you...

I'm pretty sure a Repco / Powerbuilt socket did the trick on my Rover, but you might be able to just lathe one down by a millimeter or two if need be.

Is that the Toyota coolant? Seems like most of the factories are fussy about what's used in their engines, especially those with alloy blocks. Dunno about 10 years though, IIRC, 4 years per change is closer to the recommended interval. Sounds like good stuff anyways - hope you don't need to use the ...

Run it off the EFI system and let the ECU turn it on or off via its fuel pump signal + relay. It's safer (IMO) than purely ignition activated.

3rd'ed. Fuel + spark + backfires a lot? Maybe timing, but I'd bet it's the firing order - check the leads are in the right place first. I've sworn I had it right myself before - checking against Mr Haynes' finest - but it was completely backwards...
