It appears then that you are resigned to waiting this out for the proper bellhousing to come along. I wish I could help you out but I'm on the wrong side of the pond. I'm in the USA but if I had this problem in Australia: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Bellhousing-Manual-Ford-6Cylinder-T5-167mm-Front-Sh...

I realize this may be an obscure question, but, what is the TOOTH count on the input shaft gear? Not the spline count, the tooth count. Any way of knowing? 24 teeth on a Cossie and the Tremec T5 which Allan has is also 24 teeth. The pocket bearing is a taper bearing on Allan's T5 unlike the Cossie ...

http://www.flatheadv8.org/t5.jpg That puts Dimension B (on the chart) around 182.6mm. That's the standard Ford V8 length. I don't know how much you want to spend but IF you could locate in the US a Buick 215 bellhousing AND a Ford adapter plate (they are available) you might save a few coins. Maybe...

Hi Andreas, When you said the counter weights on the crank did not fit the crankcase I wondered about that. Are we talking about the same crankshaft here? The crank I used came out of a 1972 Buick 350 engine. When I cut down the mains to P76 size and placed it into the block, ALL of the counter weig...

Since my original intent was to stroke a P76 block with a Buick 350 crank I'll tell you some things I later found out. The P76 block main bearings are unique to that engine. The main size is 2.5495" which is slightly larger than the Buick 300 and V6 size of 2.4999". the P76 main bearings are also sl...

Buick 350 3.85" crank in Rover block
I'm hoping Andreas can add more specific information on how this was done. I didn't want to pollute the P76 thread.

The bellhousing for the P76 V8 looks like a close match for the Ford Type 9. It's nearly 8" deep. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Leyland-P76-Rover-3500-4-Speed-Borg-Warner-Single-Rail-Bellhousing-/121249241023?nma=true&si=Ldz6YJqHS84y36TApJtswSYFmyk%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557#ht_11...
