There isn't a fitting available so this was the only option. Thanks to www.bropel.co.uk in Aldridge West Mi...

I can find a m20 banjo to a 5/8 straight with barb fitting but apparently you can't get the 1/2" pipe.

I've found a company near me www.bropel.co.uk who are happy to weld the tube if I cut it how I want it. Just a shame I can't get something off the shelf as I am concerned whether a 90 degree welded elbow in the pipe will affect flow and pressure.

Ok, I've now spent quite some time searching for a forged elbow with what is a m20 male from the timing cover to a 1/2" pipe outlet. I can flare the end of the 1/2" pipe and will attach a rubber hose to it. The problem I still have is to come out of the timing cover and turn direction within 31mm. N...

Many thanks, I was thinking along similar lines but putting an elbow in the existing pipe. Another thought was a banjo bolt but worried this might restrict the flow. I'll post an update next week after some hopeful progress just in case someone else can benefit. Thanks again for the suggestion.

Hi, this information is really helpful but with me I have an added problem. On the outlet underneath I do not have enough space to put a male to male adapter together with a 90 degree bend with female connector. I am trying to find someone who may be able to cut and weld a sharp elbow into the pipe ...

Thanks for the help, I"ll look into it more. Does anyone know what the fitting is for the oil outlet? I thin I've read somewhere it's either m18 or m20 but there is an olive in the pipe with two seals and the end has been swaged down to a narrower size?

Oil cooler pipework

I have a rover 3.9 with a serpentine belt setup but with a distributor opening from a discovery. The timing cover is the intermediate type. I have fitted the engine into my chrome bumper mgb and am still using the old crossmember. The previous engine owner had welded over the oil filter housing and ...
