Hi, just picked up a used auto meter rev counter , can someone advise me where the wires go , the wires are black,red,yellow, and a blue ,obviousley no instructions came with it , its a rover v8 with standard coil many thanks, David.

Checked the supply and it is 12 volt, only thing is how do I wire in the dizzy, as it has two spade type connectors on a little power pack type of thing fitted to the side of it, cheers David.

Thanks for the reply kevin, the coil I have is a mallory 12volt item the wiring is bog standard with nothing fancy or extra added so I think that the coil I have will do, thanks again David.

Hi, what I need to know is what coil to use with a DLM8 type of distributor? will a standard 12 volt coil be okay or do I fit a ballast resistor, if I do need a ballast resistor how do I wire it in , does it just fit in line on the positive wire? thanks David.( ps the engine is a 3.5 rover sd1 type ...

Sorry about the delay but sometimes work does get in the way, the tank is a small spun alloy type as used on hot rods etc so there is no return, will get afacet or similar, thanks for all the replys cheers David.

Can anyone give me any info on copper head gaskets to suit the rover v8 4.6 litre 94mm bore, ie how much do they cost and where are they available from,what results does anyone get by using these?, cheers David.

Can anyone tell me if its possible to use a fuel injection petrol pump for a carb engine (3.5 running quad sidedraughts) as long as you have a regulator fitted to restrict the pressure, would a filter king regulator work? or should I sell this pump (brand new in the box) and buy a facet or something...

Take a sample down to the local engineers suppliers tell him what you want ,I think mine cost 15 pence each .

Hi, this might seem a daft question but what gap do you set your adjustable rokers/tappets to? when reading a lot of post on here different people have different cams for different applications, so how do you know what the gap should be? is it related to the valve lift or is there a standard setting...
