Thank you, I'll give them a call I had read on the Crower 50232, they're much better priced than most of the others I've seen($200 against £535).

From what I read most need pocketed pistons though

Head confusion - pocketed piston
I've read the forums extensively but I'm just trying to get my head around what I need to do. I have a standard Rover 4.6 V8 in a 920kg car. I want to upgrade the following over the winter: Camshaft Heads I have a spare couple of heads for the 4.6 which I wish to upgrade to the Stage 3 RPI head kit ...

4.6 V8 swap to MX5
I was on here a bit last year looking for advice on Andy's old MX5 V8 so I thought I'd update you on what's happened since then to help anyone else. Despite many hours and some increase in performance I just couldn't get the 3.5 to run properly. The car stank of fuel a lot of the time and the horsep...

Thank you so much for the help, I didn't see the comment on moving it around, I did kind of try to do that but the leads reached their limit. I'm on the quest to get the bhp up, it's still pretty lame for such a modified 3.5 in a 950kg car, just bought a timing strobe and I'll get a wide band monito...

35DLM8 Issue with fitting
Hi, I bought a 35DLM8 to replace my current distributor however when I went to fit it the vacuum and amp where in different places. The vacuum fouls on the water inlet and the amp catches on the other side, in fact the pics in the post below show the issue perfectly: http://www.v8forum.co.uk/forum/v...

A lesson in oils
Hi, I've got a Mazda MX5 with a 3.5 modified Rover V8 which sits pretty comfortably in the engine bay. It benefits from a huge custom radiator and a bonnet scoop. It's generally quite a cool running car, even in traffic it takes a while for the fan to be needed. This week due to time I dropped it of...

I've ordered a wideband AFR so I can get the carb just right. I tried swapping the jets about. Firstly I did a couple of upgrades. NGK7 standard plugs replaced with irridium. Standard leads with magnecor. I left the 65/52 in and went for a long run, around 100 miles. Sparks plugs were bleach white a...

Ah now I get you :) So my last set up was 80 jet and 62/52 for rods. The new one is set up as 86 with 65/52. It runs nice enough but is missing a bit of power off the top end. I don't fancy pulling the jet out, I'll put the 62/52 back in and see how it runs :) I only used the rods as example, I coul...

Quick update :) I decided to buy a new Edelbrock 1404 as was still getting small issues with initial response and intermittent stuttering. I did the job in around 40 minutes, very very simple, I can't believe how easy it was. It started straight away and runs beautifully. The rods are 67 at the mome...
