I don't know the set up in your landy , but i would think if you plumbed the pipe from the carb tower to the expansion bottle it would flood , the expansion bottle is just a space for the expanded liquid to migrate to and return to the system as it cools . I'm pretty certain 20/50 was the factory spec oil for the UK up until '83 when it changed to 10/40. I know it's the right oil , just wondering about running it that hard from cold being thicker .
