Thanks. I have a 4.6 that has had new 4.0 HC Pistons fitted by J EDevelopments. John has said I should have about 10:1 CR. I bought these heads described as Stage 2 TVR heads but do not know how much has been skimmed off. I can work out from STD measurements. Sadly I made the mistake of buying what ...

I have a MOTRONIC running stand alone using a module from Mark Adams. Works well and can be reverted back to "all the clobber" as well as it is in a spaceframe vehicle with full D2 wiring

So as a head to upgrade to stage 2 mods these appear to be ok. My engine is a late 4.6 - just wanted to be sure older heads were not a retro step. Does it make any difference that the castings are slightly different between the pair

Thanks Denis

Does this mean that the oil will flow the correct way one the oil gets warm or have I got a problem all the time. In the mean time, IU have piped the oil through the filter, then to a cooler and back to the remote filter mount and back into the engine.

We have removed the cooler pipes and replaced them with hydraulic hoses. The problem was there when I used the factory pipes - it kept blowing off the quick release couplings.

The car does have a remote oil filter but the late front covers have two ports for the oil cooler pipes and yes we have oil flowing under pressure from both pipes. There is no circuit when connected to the cooler. I was wondering if there is a problem with the relief valve. Ultimately I could blank ...

OIL COOLER OIL FLOW

Hope someone can help - I have a Discovery 2 4.6 V8 in an off road racer. We have a remote oil filter and the oil flow to it is great. However the oil flow to the oil cooler seems to be the same on both pipes. I would expect the flow to come out of 1 but not out of both. As a result, the oil cooler ...

I agree that injectors all failing at the same time is rare - in defence, the engine had only recently been fitted before it had to be changed for the 4.6 - so I am wondering if dirt in the fuel tank caused the injectrors to fail when they were fitted to the 3.9 engine. The 3.9 was removed because 1...

Right - I think we have solved this problem - I changed all injectors and the fuel rail - took it off another engine. Car now runs on all 8 although could do with a bit of a tune

4.6 in a pick up Disco does go well though!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Many thanks for help

HOTWIRE ON 4.6 ROVER V8 IN DISCO 1

Help and advice needed. I have just finished converting a 4.6 GEMS block to HOTWIRE with 3.9 SERP front end and standard distributor. Problem I now have is it only runs on 2 cylinders ( only 2 header pipes are hot - rest are stone cold. The 2cyls running are 4 and 6. I assume that HOTWIRE fires the ...

Good point - I have that bit still to do - Only have the headers, dissy and aux drive belt left to fit and after putting oil and coolant in we can fire the old girl up.

I had a 3.9 serp engine as the donor so all parts to hand.
