Your post seems to have different bit of different things. Certainly we are not talking about LPG addition to diesel injection here (either as gas or liquid). So forget that part. Presumably Cummins Diesels are interested in diesel engines. If LPG contains waxy susbstances then that will mess up a v...

Just like nitrous, as soon as the LPG enters air....it boils into a gas. Which is exactly what you want as it will offer great cooling benefits. Thats where current LPG vapour injection systems lose out. ( well, from a performance point of view anyway, especially with boost :P ) Thanks, you and I a...

I have been keeping an eye on this one on & off. These people have been promoting it for years: http://www.lpgli.com/ I also found a reference about it here: http://www.arunautogas.co.uk/autogas_lpg_conversion.htm which suggests that it isn't quite ready for the prime-time yet! What I don't underst...

Current State of Liquid LPG Injection
Hi Guys, Getting time to build the next V8 for the Landy, and I always said that if I could go for liquid LPG injection I would build an engine made for it (like 11:1 CR). A few years ago I heard there was a system but the pumps tended to fail and they were very expensive (presumably they fail becau...
Thanks guys
Its nice to have some good votes for the Marcos. Half the current Marcos owners must be people who fell in love with them way back, and got one when the kids had grown up. They were the subject of bedroom posters. It was quite a car in 1965. The V8 version is brisk, the engine is lighter than the Fo...

MOT regs
Thanks very much for your informative reply. I will print that info off ready for the next MOT - which is 9 months away. I hope the DVLA computer has read that note otherwise I can see the tester saying "The computer says NO". It doesn't seem to matter that it is a hard top with only one passenger s...

Rude words ! - my local tester refused to test it as it was over 3000kg (he used to do it), next one I went to did the same (both could only do a class 4). I always used to get it tested as a 4, but no-one could find the words and music to this dual-purpose ritual, and even if I found them they woul...

The problem is my DVLA paperwork is wrong in other areas, like my 110 was registered with a Gross Vehicle Weight of 3000kg, but is plated as 3050kg. So the Registration document says it will go on a class 4 MOT, but the plating says it has to have a class 7. I contacted the DVLA to straighten it out...

New Rover Number prefix for you
My Marcos Mantula is one of the early 3.9Efi ones, and the factory sold the complete car, including engine, as component parts for assembly in 1991. By 1992 they had swapped to all factory built cars. It seems they had their own number series as the number is 46A00058A (its probably identical in all...

Having the wrong engine number is definitely a problem in a landrover- with them being stolen more and more these days apparently. I am not sure many V8s Landy's get stolen - especially if the tank is empty ! I suppose they are checking for cars where the plates don't match the car, and that is a b...

I have never seen one of these roadside checks (except for trucks), and I have been driving for near on 40 years. However it probably time to think about rebuilding the old unit, so do they measure engine capacity at these roadside checks ? I couldn't find the thread about receipts, searched for DVL...

Oops
You mean you are supposed to tell them about an engine swap ? On the 110, I never bothered as the engine is just in temporary until I get round to rebuilding the original one (think that was about 8 years ago). Some bits of the original engine are still under the bonnet, like the timing cover and su...
As you are In Oz I think the Monaro is known as the HSV VZ GTO Coupe, and you will know about the Harrop stealth systems, AP racing brakes, ripshifters, pedders suspensions mods - as I think they all come across from Oz. The HSV is fantastic - but the Marcos is seat of the pants and about the same p...
My Cars
Hi Guys, I had a P6 Rover for many years - two engines and two gearboxes (converted it from auto to manual), but that had to go and now have three V8s : Land Rover 110 V8 - an original 1988 V8 emergency response vehicle - but now with tuned 3.5 V8 and Holley Commander fully programmable Efi Marcos M...
