Ah gotya. Thought you were trying to get a tiny bit more valve lift by modifying the geometry or something :)

What would you expect to gain from this? Perhaps if you have exhausted (excuse the pun) every other performance mod and are looking for those last few hp from your race engine, but otherwise seems like a lot of effort for very little gain.

But then again, who am I to stifle creativity? :)

Ahhh... hence the piston cutout. Strange system!

It just looks from the photos that the short side radius is pretty sharp.

Why not just go for nitromethane? :)

Looks like the ports could do with a bit of flow work!

20mm down the bore? Wow that's a lot. Wonder how much you could skim off the block before you hit cooling jackets. Longer conrods perhaps? How is the piston to valve clearance currently?

Personally it's overrated. I've never seen anything about running at high speed upon start in the Land Rover documentation. Nor is it in Haynes. It is only the camshaft manufacturers that bang on about it....... Chris. Seems a few people say that! I am curious because some professional engine build...

It was a shambles because nobody has properly tested the technology, only 2 teams had done a full distance test run before the weekend! Some cars just didn't work, none of the drivers really know how to drive them, and the gross design of the front ends must point to a lot of this being done in a b...

Then make the people on the pitwall wear firesuits! Afterall, a car could hit the wall and send fuel spraying out (very unlikely but possible). The point is it totally ruined the racing (like the new 'safer' dildo-noses ruined the looks) and it wasn't nearly as unsafe as the driving its self. Not ev...

Refuelling was removed for obvious safety reasons, too many accidents and near misses, someone could have easily died or been horrifically injured. Hardly... there was one flame up and they all wear fireproof suits! Being a driver is far more dangerous. Why not ban drivers and have them all do it o...

I can't really see from the photos, but the harmonic damper ring usually has the wide surface with the timing marks towards the engine. If the ring has ever come off it's possible it has been replaced the other way round. If it feels at all loose then the pulley needs to go in the bin. Regards Deni...

That is big! I have looked, the best thing may be to get some of ther needle roller bearings with 3mm bore, 5mm OD and I can have some outer races made a couple of mm thick to cope with all the valve bashing. Not sure how they would get oiled though- is it enough to rely on what is splashing around...

To be honest, apart from that German prick and Sky ruining it, the biggest issue for me is that they got rid of refueling. At least with refueling the pitstops were different lengths, people had different strategies and you never knew the outcome until at least the final pitstop (unlike now where it...

Oh dear, were you running it up at 11:30 last night?! I wouldn't take the cam out again, just try another 15-20 min session when you next get to start it, and sort the cooling out!! Nope.... was bloody 2pm! Crazy old women. Wasn't planning on taking the cam out... just wondering whether I'd need to...
