Thanks John, I would agree but none of the hydraulic suppliers have them in 5/8". Even my local Co', Unimaster, have no 5/8" plugs in st/st.

The search continues...

I would probably think twice about putting stainless plugs in the aluminum base :) http://www.corrosion-doctors.org/MatSelect/corrmetals.htm Mike , that's irrelevant. All metals corrode/oxidize to some point. The main issue when using stainless steel [st/st] fasteners with an alloy is galling when ...

Inlet Base Blanking Screws

Guys,

Can you help me...have been trawling the net to buy 2no stainless steel planking plugs for the trumpet inlet base...but can't find a supplier. Standard units are steel 5/8"x1/2".

Any/all help greatly received.

Though upon reflection, a simple tapping into one of the post manifold downpipes has its attraction. Naturally, this must be installed after the lambda sensors. Mmm, may need to go away and think on this...

Thanks John, thanks Perry. I would not want to go down the exhaust scavenge route as this plays havoc with the annual MOT HC readings. They're perfect for the track only vehicles. However, I see no reason why a simple oil catch tank can't be used. Of course, the question is how much oil is collect i...

Guys, thank you for the quick replies. Perry, I have 2no refurbished rocker covers, both with oil filler cap covers to the front of the engine and the 2no smaller holes to the rear for the small filters. I'd prefer not to connect this outlet to the plenum inlet; it makes no sense. Fitting just a fil...

Rocker Cover / Crankcase breathing RV8 3.9/TVR 4.0

Gents, looking for some advice here. I'm not wanting to install the old Rover type crankcase breather flametrap as it's pig ugly. My thoughts were to install a K&N type breather filter with 2x smaller breather filters installed to the rear of the rocker covers. As running EFi I don't need to run a b...

Jim @ JRV8 a big thank you

Dear All, whilst installing the thrust arm and CRB to my R380 box I just 'felt' the install wasn't a 'tight' as it should be. I spoke with the companies who sold me the parts...and knew the info' they were giving was from the type of fellow who's never installed a V8/R380 before i.e. no good. Search...

thanks dave, that's my feel too. but, the tvr chimaera manuals + steve heath books state 35 ft/lbs and i'm confused. cranked up cover bolts yesterday to spec'd 35ft/lbs and had a bolt head snap. shocked my rural neighbours as cursed like a drunken cleric. clutch now removed...t'row drill out remaind...

TVR Chimaera /RV8 Clutch Cover Bolt Torque Settings

Gents, I'm needing some clarity here. I'm needing to know the true torque setting for the 6no clutch cover plate 5/16" set screws for the Rover/TVR/RV8 3.9/4.0ltr. Clutch is std TVR 9.5". So far I've been advised anything between 20-35 ft/lbs...and that's one big difference for a 5/16" [x7/8"] high ...

Rover V8 Harmonic Damper needed

Dear All, I'm searching for more modern harmonic damper with timing marks to install on the TVR/Rover V8 4.0 engine I'm fitting to my MGB conversion. The engine has the earlier timing cover with uprated oil pump. Think I'm right in saying these engines were balanced externally [which isn't the ideal...
