Bit late to the party on this one! I have a single wideband on each of my two MS'd vehicles, one of which is my 90 running MS1, and my P6 which is on MS2. The 90 used to be my daily, before the P6 arrived. In both cases I bought and modified a cheap (£5-10) RS232 USB adapter from ebay to work with t...

I don't quite see how the ECU being used has anything to do with it tbh - the engine needs what it needs fuelwise. How you define that whether as a percentage of warm fuelling or as a pure pulsewidth value shouldn't make any difference. The guidelines on the MS pages are based on trying to start a g...

How hot did it get exactly? Checking for mayo, seeing if the coolant system is over-pressurising (rock hard top hose) and checking compression would be my first steps before getting serious and stripping stuff I think. How's the oil pressure? My main concerns with an overheat would be things like be...

I have OAT in my 90 and its had a couple of plugs go too recently. I rebuilt the engine in 2008 (I think) and new core plugs were fitted at the time.

I was suspecting the OAT so will be switching back to normal Blue coolant when I have swapped them all.

Update on this one- still no idea really what was going on but all working now. Have resisted posting as didn't want to curse myself by saying it was OK! What I did was: Fitted the battery from my P6 (fully charged after driving home from work), ran a jump lead from the negative terminal to the star...

Might be worth investing in a wideband oxygen sensor, they aren't massively expensive anymore, then you can check what is going on quite accurately yourself. Only downside is that it means taking the exhaust off and welding in a boss for sensor. According to the AFR/CO table stickied on this section...

Starter woes - machine gun noises.

Right, so this is my Rover 3.5 powered Land-Rover 90. It used to be my daily, but since my Rover P6 came on the scene back in 2014 it has been relegated to weekend duties. Up until now it has taken this demotion well, and generally started first time every time, even if left to sit for a couple of w...

As Simplesimon says - EDIS does have multispark, although I think that different versions of the module may have varying capabilities.

There is a setting to turn it on in Megasquirt - I have never tried it...

Is this on your 101?

I'd say it'd probably be ok without it as the engine is relatively high, unless you are planning on doing some real mud plugging in it?

Somehow I think the people on http://www.kitsandclassics.co.uk/engine-ecu/ are not fans of Megasquirt... Read the bit at the bottom: "Megasquirt to Emerald K6 ECU Upgrade We are being asked by a few people now about upgrading their Megasquirt ECU installs to something better. We can now offer a Mega...

Dave, I did some testing aaaaages ago (4-5 years?) on my Landrover when it had Flapper injectors - however I was using a resistor pack, not PWM. The Landrover uses MS1 so no test mode - using the 2 squirts/ 4 squirts method I got a deadtime of somewhere around 0.6ms (I can't remember exactly what I ...

In my 90 (3.5 powered) I simply fitted an in-tank pump for a Range Rover and extended it down to the bottom of the tank by lengthening the support bracket and replacing the standard section of hose with a longer bit of the appropriate grade. Pump part number is PRC8318 - it bolts right in! (well it ...

Sidecar is your man for questions like this. Can you respace some of the column and row values? I notice you have all 28's in the bottom row so that is effectively not being used. If you re-jig things a bit you can have more resolution around the idle/low rpm area of the map where you are probably g...
