Winter plans?

So what's everyone up to over winter, any mods/upgrades/projects planned?

Mine's to finish painting my Minx, and then set about my wagon, haven't decided on a motor yet. Lexus V8 for cheapness/reasonable mpg, or yank V8 for the rumble...

Loads of things planned but none for the car, they are all intended for my bike

Go on then, cough up :)

Just hoping my bike keeps going till the Minx is OK.. it's done the traditional Triumph thing and developed some oil weeps...

I am moving into the Southern Hemisphere Summer, so when I am home from work, I will be on my bike...I may be persuaded to add some bits to it, though. Depends on the new job....

I have a DynoJet PCV pigiback ECU to fit on it along with exhaust and other bits and bobs. Wont get a lot more power out of it but I should be able to smooth out the fuelling a lot and give it a bit more low down punch. Should be fun setting up the fuel maps if nothing else. Also have some brackets to make up so I can fit some extra lights. Its a 1200 Adventure so should have them anyway. Biggest project is getting some entertainment and GPS sorted out on it. I just got a second hand Dell Streak 5" tablet and that will run GPS and music via the intercom.. It can also interface with the ECU and give me all the bike stats if I wanted. Not really interested in that as such but could be handy on a trip if it all goes wrong I suppose. I currently plug my phone in which does all the same stuff but this will be a permanent install which stays on the bike. Should keep me busy during the worst of the weather when I cant really use it :D

Winter mods for me include a GPS speedo drive as the help with getting my AutoMeter speedo working earlier in the year came to no avail so in goes a super accurate unit from Classic Instruments.
A new rad fan is also in the mix along with adjusting the gearshift mechanism and sorting out a clonking exhaust on the drivers side.
Also bought myself an extreme filter top for my oval air filter in the hopes of getting a bit better breathing to the ol gal.
Also to finally set up the engine with an LC1 with the help of Muscle Manta.
Mrs Gelmonkeys car is going to be the winter build though with the engine and box just about ready to chuck in now.

Some to do then but not anything to complicated.

Cheers
P

I've got a Mallory Maxfire electronic advance dizzy and coil to fit along with an XRam manifold and the quad 48DCOE's as soon as Webcon get their fingers out and get the carb bodies machined. Also the Goddess should be home from the welders in the next few weeks so that's possibly cab painting, ally panelling and then out for exterior paint. Busy busy busy :D

My winter plans are a complete hash at the mo??
I need to get a new 4.6 built. I've got three 4.6's sitting on the garage floor as well as four 3500 engines that need tarting up to raise money.

Actually one of the 3500's is already built with +20 bores and new internals. This was in the Escort waiting to be run in, but there is a 4.6 for the Escort now.
I have another 3500 that juist needs glazebusting and new rings and that will be on sale soon.

I desperately need to clear the decks in the garage and get my 2012 race engine built???

I was hoping to have the MGB on the Dyno over Xmas. But at this rate I have had to knock that back to Mid Feb 2012 :(

Whatever happens I need to be ready to rock for the Retro Show in July for my 9 second attempt ?

Hi
Still plodding on with the slingshot, I now have all major the bits apart from Brakes, coil packs, rev-counter, and about £350 forth of jets pils and and filters for the mechanical injection. The last 5 weekends have been spent building plugs for the body work, this should have taken 2 weekends by all rights but it seems one of those jobs where everything takes far too long. I now have a thick layer of sanding dust everywhere, this will be finished very soon though!!!
I need to get an undertray made up, anyone know anyone with a 10 foot folding break that could make up the front undertray and sides in one?
I need to weld the last of the brackets onto the chassis for rear floors, engine under tray, trans cooler and shifter then it is time to paint the chassis and put it together.
Best regards
Mike

TISSUES NOW
Whatever fuel consumption you have now its out of the window with that lot Ian
Cracking set up although I would have thought that an Inglese injection set up with downdraughts would have been better suited to the Chevy motor or do the rules forbid that?
I can't remeber what you told me the other week when we spoke about your car and the rules you run under.

Cheers
