Cobratone,
Something like the ones in post #32?

Built by a fellow called Dave Ingle in Cape Town. A bit of a legend in the tuning business here, works from home. It could also work out well for you on the exchange rate, he's f@rkin expensive for us yokels, though...

Google Dave Ingle Competition Engines (DICE)

I hope you'll fit a chevy engine in that p38 soon...

Not likely to happen. I've put megasquirt on it, 72mm plenum, ported inlet manifold and removed the MAF and it goes pretty well now. If I come across a cheap supercharger or turbo I might try that - but I suspect the gearbox wont take the power.
I've got a 400 BHP 4x4 (the dakar) and a 420Bhp daily driver (VXR8) - so i dont have a shortage of fast cars. Although whats interesting is that i drive to work in the P38 and leave the VXR8 at home?!

If i come across a cheap LS1, then i may decide to try it - i've already shown that you can megasquirt these things without upsetting the GEMS/BECM - so dropping a chevy in should be straigtforward.
My approach would be to fit a 36-1 wheel onto the chevy and feed that into the GEMS to make it think the engine is still present. I've proven that its about the only signal apart from TPS it needs, as my P38 is happily driving around with the Lambda sensor missing, the maf sensor missing and the injectors disconnected from the point of view of the GEMS - and it still doesn't throw any check engine lights on the dashboard.
