Hi.

I have got 5.2L top hat liner RV8 block, it will leak outside of block slightly oil between centre of 4 and 6cylinder head bolt and also 3 and 5 cylinder. (10bolt head). Rocker cover gasket dosen“t leak, It will come between head and the block gap.
1. is my head gasket burn?
2. Is it leak compression gas (fuel, oil and head gasket composite material?)
all 8 cylinder compression pressure similar.
3.Or is my composite gasket material bad and it will look like oil? When engine is warm then material burn and it will drip?
4. Is oil coming for ARP stud theard?
5. How it is possiple that oil is coming in the midle of the block? There is no oil holes..
6. No overheating, Block and head has been machined couple year go..

strange this as i have this same problem with my 4.6 built over 2 years ago, but the engine has only done 400miles since re-build.

I noticed what looks to be oil coming from here, but i cannot trace where is comes from, its not a bad leak, just a small ish drop after the engine has ran.

I dont think its anything serious but am interested if anyone else has the answer to this..

The oil is most likely running across the block deck from the valley area to the outside. Clearly a head gasket issue.
