RV8 maf or map

Think I've got this in the right place!
In respect to rover v8's
After carbs came the "flapper" type injection system, after this came the "Hotwire" yes?
the terms relate to the type of MAF used?
After this came the "Gems" type of injection witch was much later.
Is there any other variations or types intirely I've missed out, that were found on the rover V8 engines?
I ask because I'm looking in to using a Rover V8 engine (4.6) on a project, and like the idea of making my own twin plenum, two throttle body inlet system, with this comes the problem of, if the injection system runs MAF it means re-joining the two inlets back up again for the air intake, and I dont really want to do this, because I was hoping to straight after my throttle bodys, put two filters on, so it would be right behind the bonnet scoop, thus needing a MAP sensor so I can feed from the two 68mm throttle bodys I've got, put a T in and join up to a MAP sensor.
I've also been told running with a MAP and TPS is far better than a MAF anyway.
Its evident that the "Flapper" and "Hotwire" systems both have MAF's but I've owned a car in the past (Fiesta RS1800 and RS Turbo) witch not only had a MAF but a MAP and TPS as well, to add to this when the MAF was disconected the ECU went straight to using the MAP sensor with no problems, so if the rover injection system does have a MAP as well as a MAF, could I just forget it the MAF and remove it?
So the question is, did any rover injection systems have a MAP sensor?
No MAP function then means I'm going to have to Megasquirt it...
