Need some new exhaust manifold gaskets. Last time I used the 8 individual silver paper squish ones. Not tot happy as they didn't last that long. There seems to be a new style metal "pair" type or the composite black style. Anyone used them and can recommend?
Also toying with the idea of the stud kit? Worth it or do they work loose?

I've been using studs & brass nuts for years with no problems. If anything it makes it easier to mount your headers. As for the gaskets, most of the time I use the single OEM type even though I have to open the bore up to match the ports. The dual type are OK but they get in the way if you need to re-torque your heads.

I've used the stainless shim type gaskets for years and found them good. In fact I've used the same set for years and never found a need to replace them !!

Rover part number is ERR6733, usually on Ebay and available from the predictable sources.

The problem may not be the gaskets. It may be that your manifolds need re-facing - the thermal cycling can cause distortion of the metal over time. It's easy to check - just put a straight edge across all the mating faces. If you can see light between the straight edge and the manifold then you will get uneven clamping pressure on the gaskets, and hence premature failure

sure i got mine off ebay but from v8 developements, but they were the larger port sizes so the matched my stage 4 head ports.

Been on for 2 years and no problems, even if you remove them you can use them again.

I've also had a few problems where the exhaust face wasnt sealing and then they dont last long.
