Any T5 owners out there? ( M-7003-Z) same as 251?
With the car in neutral and foot off the clutch pedal. (std SD1 clutch fork + bearing) the transmission makes small noise, like rocks rolling around in the case. But with the clutch pedal in, while in neutral, it goes away. Transmission is drived ~150 miles old and has Valvoline ATF fluid.
I heard from someone these transmissions were loud,
Local dealer say it is normal, also ask straight for tremec, they say it quite normal.

Plenty of manual boxes are noisy in neutral if the idle speed is too low.

idle speed is approx 850rpm (stage 4 5.2lire RV8 with ITB setup and ultra lightweight flywheel + polyurethane engine + gearbox mount)
Not sure if those are the reasons? It wont rattle when revs are +1300? or i cant hear it..
Very small whine is hearing some gears, and understand it usually go away when box has drived say +700miles.
Shifting is very smooth vs old LT77

Im using a tremec t5 out of a tvr and can't hear it while idling and neutral.

my old lt77 used to be noisy when in neutral and would go quite when clutch depressed.

Likely the very light flywheel allowing pulses to the gears - so they speed up and slow down rapidly about the mean speed, causing the rattle, as any backlash is taken up then relaxed.

I think Ford Cossie, mustang and TVR boxes are all Borg Warner product.. They are quiet, because the are from productioncar stuff. I read somewhere that tremec gears are not cutted excactly as BW gears. + my Z version has got some diffrent bearing vs std BW T5.

My Tremec TKO600 box sounds like it has straight cut gears. I think all the aftermarket boxes are considered noisy. Luckily I can't hear much of it because of the Rhoads lifters and the side exhausts.

does it still make a noise if you only part press the clutch peddle? If so its your clutch release bearing which is fairly common. If you have to press all the way to release the clutch then it will be an input bearing. Probably wouldn't worry about it unless it gets proper noisy.

What kind of transmission fluid is in the box? Also, are you using a concentric release bearing or the original paddle release thingy?

The noise goes away when I push in the clutch to the floor. Sound´s like inputshaft bearing, or like teeth are messing around. Release bearing is new.

And it is original SD1 type clutch kit.
I Use Valvoline Automatic transmission oil. Dexron 3.
Local tremec dealer recon Redline MTL and manufacture says Mobil synthetic ATF no gear oil´s at all..
