Anti-stall modifications on Efi cars - for "bodger"

Disengaging this subject from Chris's Parts thread - sorry mate! 
OK Bodger, the stub pipes you may have seen on some cars are the ones used for an identical air valve plumbed into the air rail and plenum just below and ahead of the inlet tunnel and it is wired in parallel with the clutch for A/C cars to prevent the engine stalling, at idle speed, when the A/C compressor engages.
So to summarise - there are actually two antistall functions designed for Efi RV8's such as the SD1 Vitesse and the VDP Efi.
1 A/C factory fitted antistall system described above
2 Post production modification (dealer or DIY owner fitted) to prevent Auto cars stalling when the transmission is engaged as described below.

It's tee'd into the Air Rail adjacent to the throttle lever bracketry and the EAV "U" pipe using specially restricted metal tee pieces and 4 jubilees.

And a very useful mod, too, for Auto cars that tend to stall as they go into gear.
