Tubular headers over cast manifolds?

Is there any noticeable gain to fitting tubular headers above the standard cast manifolds?

I am not sure the extra cost is warranted for the Disco on top of all of my other wants and wishes but if low down torque and smoother running are available then maybe?

The biggest thing I noticed was increased noise levels!, so I went back to EFi cast headers (the ones with twin outlets)

The way I see it, a poor tubular header can be worse than a good cast item. They will be louder, but normally flow better, although cast headers when hot will flow better than expected because they keep the heat in the gasses and pressure down. On a standard engine I don't know if there would be good gains unless your head has been tweeked as well.

I changed to tubular on my 3.9 Disco & it now thinks its a TVR!. Seems to rev a lot a faster + higher & no downsides in running I've found.

So general consensus would seem that maybe stage1 ported and polished heads would be an advantage and that in conjuction with the tubular sets I could gain a few extra ponies?

I have them on my wish list with the heads and Megajolt ignition, and, etc,. etc,. you get my picture.
