what engine is this?????

hi i picked up my rv8 engine for my capri today!!!
the numbers are: CR 9.75.1 24G10727B
can someone id this for me please

That's the compression ratio. IIRC, 9.75:1 is the highest used by Rover on a 3.5, (apart from the original P5/6 unit) so means an SD1 Vitesse or EFI engine.

Thats unusual ...the 24G is what they call a DETOX engine with SU's fitted to the landrover 100
and should have 8.13:1 CR ...thats what my engine started life as ...

Acording to chart 24G00001 90/110 8.31:1 CR 1983 on
