Any one on here improved the roadholding of a classic rangie.

Mine very rarely goes off road so is it possible to fit slightly lowered springs so she hugs the road better

if its not got anti roll bars id go with them first

Bigger rims & low profile tyres will help make it feel more precise.

try the air spring set up off the last of series, different car on the road and better off road, it squats down 2" when you hit 50mph and jacks itself up 3" when you need it to, and much much better around corners.
Not a 5 minute job to fit but probably not expensive if you strip it off a crash wrecked car.

Sounds like a hard job to me arent they prone to playing up though

I bought an 7 year old LSE with air suspension ran it for three years doing 65k+ miles and used to carry serious loads and towed a 1 ton trailer from time to time, used to wash the underside in April when they stopped gritting, apart from that never touched it, never gave me any trouble.
I believe the biggest promlem with the system is if you get crud between the rubber "bags" and their mounts that form the top and bottem ends of the airbags to fix that it is apparently a case of remove, clean in soapy water, grease with silicon grease and reassemble. Compared to normal springs they are fantastic.

Am i just being tight, but isn't silicon grease a lot more expensive than fairy liquid ?
I've used fairy on truck & trailer airbags & it works a treat, failing that, plain Swarfega .
