Urgent PC help :-(

anyone know where i can get a power unit from for my Dell PC?
it has the dreaded amber flashing power light on the power button :cry:
read online that it could be the power supply,
Pc is a Dell Optiplex GX520
the power unit in side is Part Number: H220P-01

It's a desktop? Most use standard ATX power supplies.

Open it up and remove the PS. Note the spec - ie wattage output. Get one with the same or higher output. If you want one now, Maplin or PC World, etc. Otherwise Google for a cheaper source. DABS etc for mail order. Should cost about 30 quid. Or FreeCycle for a (broken) desktop - most made in recent years should use the same type of PS.
But of course it may not be the PS - other faults could cause the machine not to start up, as the PS contains protection circuitry to prevent it being overloaded.

Your HD can be transferred to a working machine preserving all your data, if all else fails.

Take out the PSU (noting which wires go where!), and take it to PC World, Maplin, any PC place in fact, and they should be able to furnish you with a replacement on the spot.

it was the PSU that had died,
got the pc back today with an upgraded PSU (bigger one :lol: )
