does an R380 fit ?

hi, i've got an SD1 and my LT77 has died. would an R380 from a defender or disco fit as long as i use my bellhousing or are there lots of other mods to make as well ?
Apart from the fact that a Defender of Disco box is 4 wheel drive you mean . . . .
Seriously, the rear of a LR box has an adaptor and output shaft designed to mate to a transfer box. You can strip and re-build one as a 2WD spec (that's what mine is) but you need a number of bits and castings - they're not the same as the parts from your LT77 either. You'd be better off looking for a 2WD unit to start with.
