Hi,
Just bought a V8 unfinished project so totally new to V8's and need some help. It was running as drove it out of the drive and onto the trailer but it stopped while reversing off the the other end with the fuel pump ticking away as it had run out of fuel.

Filled with fuel but now won't start. The fuel pump ticks fast then slows but doesn't absolutely stop. It it now starts for a second but won't continue to run. I have tried putting more petrol in but pump still ticks away. There is fuel going into the carb and fuel comes out of the float siting holes. Carb is a new holley 4160 but the whole car has been around for a while.

Any ideas?? or advice greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the posts. Currently running the standard distributor and the fuel pump is a Facet

Educated guess, wet plugs, RV8s dont like wet plugs, if they look wet or smell of petrol, dry them with a blow torch or fit new ones, dont pump the throttle unless you realy have to
