are these any good??

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/LAND-ROVER-DISCOV ... 5d2878ac98

i have a bosch external one atm, but its a pain as when it gets low i suffer from fuel serge, also its fairly noisy, so was thinking of of these would solve both issues an save space?

anyone know how much power they are ok with? guessing since they are p38 then they must be ok up to 250bhp?

I found this type easier to fit as it has a steel top thats easy to screw through, managed to cut it down ok too, john

Hi Ralph

If your new pump draws from the same area of the tank it too will have surge problems.

Ypu may need to make a small sump at the bottom of the tank (2 litres or bigger) and draw from that - that way the fuel should always be present for the fuel pump

The HP pump will pump something like 110 GPH or about 500l per hour or about 8 l per minute so so long as the "slosh" time is less than 15 seconds the 2 litres sump should not drain.

Or fit a swirl tank fed by a low pressure pump and draw the HP pump from there - the sloshing will not matter then!

Noise wise have you hard mounted it or do you have it on rubber feet? Hard mounting will transfer some noise.
Also running these hp pumps dry will kill them very quick - even with surging the wear rate increases exponentially

take a look at the ebay link, its an internal pump an i think its got a reservoir inside the base of it.

am i correct anyone?

im pretty sure the range rover tank wont have any baffles in it so think the pump must hold the solution to it.

also being internal the sound will be deaded by the petrol.

I'd say nope
The bottom bit will be the motor
