I assume its is computer written programe, that would be mind numbingly hard to programe manually, and just one zero too many, and WHOOPSIE, or set the datum to a minus point. I did see an appreitice run an unchecked programe with a -z axis datum set to about 70mm below the table height, that made a mess of a very expensive machine

I did hear a rumour that the tutor for our lathe and mill class (back in the mists of time when I worked for Britannia but did my first year at Bae) managed to wipe out a 146 wing.... probably not the best thing to do, one big chunk of metal

The Melling Hellcat V10 has heads & block milled from solid billets of alloy. Perfectly do-able!

Sounds quite good too, not convinced entirely by the looks though! Quite tough lookin' I guess

That is a COOL vid 8-)
They are just showing off by finishing the bores with a ball nose and pivoting the block every which way when a boring bar would be much quicker. No way on earth would you want to program that manually

Good vid.
The jetsprint boys in aus and nz are starting to run billet blocks, they get a 502 cu in out of a small block size from what i understand. they are awesome to watch.
