Throttle bodies are basically just butterfly valves in tubes, with some vacuum ports etc, all they do is let more or less air flow through them at different throttle positions. They are only used with injection (when referring to TB's as independant bodies) and the injector is downstream and squirts whatever the ECU tells it to depending on throttle position etc etc.

Bike carbs and webers are as close as you will get to ITB's (independant throttle bodies) without going down the injection route as they look like TB's but are infact proper carburettors.

Either way is bloody expensive and rarely yealds any significant gain over the more common induction types found on RV8's, i.e. single or twin plenum injection or the easiest being the favorite Edelbrock 4bbl carb on a Performer manifold. The independant route can easily remove any low rpm torque and control but will normally rev well.

(waiting to get shot down now  )

Apart from the spacing the AJP TB's come in 2 versions (4.2 & 4.5 have quite different top ends), neither of them have really suitable injector positions (or fuel rail) when canted to anything like the angle of an RV8 valley IIRC. (to get them to fit you end up fouling the rocker covers or the valley is too narrow) even if you did make up an adapter.

I'll stick to my holley worth a try on e bay for £40
