Anybody know the weight of the standard Rangie 4.6. Piston,
Im just trying to work out if my new combo will need metal added to the crank or just a simple ballance

Without valve cut outs?

Could tell you the weight with cut outs?

4.6 piston weighs 601g with pin
4.0L piston weighs 581g with pin

Both were fairly dirty with some carbon.

Just weighed my piston/pin/ring combo and it comes up around 490g without cutouts machined, so I suppose I should get the ballance done, probably have a crank like a swiss cheese     but I am using 4.0 rods in the 4.6 so they are a bit longer/heavier
