Would a webber 500 be big enough for a 5.0 ford going to buy one for my 3.5 rover but am going to ugrade to a bigger ford soon,so dont want to splash out again in a couple of months.

Steve,
All depends on what power output you want from the 5.0, up to around 275 BHP the 500 will probably be ok as it was intended for engine of approx 5.0L anything over that and it will become retrictive.

How about getting a 600cfm eddy, that would probably be ok?

OK for the 5.0 but much too big for a 3.5 rover unless possibly for full race.

Hi
If the 3.5 is to be replaced anyway and assuming you have it on a pair of SU's why convert it to a 4 barrel carb? Just stick with the carbs you have until you replace the engine, then you can buy the right carb for the ford and save money.

Or blow all your cash on fitting some Weber or Dellorto 48's

They would find themselves right at home on a 5.0 Ford!
Shame my set I am thinking of selling would be too small...
