1980 jag xj6 flapper air flow meter

hi all,do any one no if xj6 flapper air flow meter will fit rover sd1 Vitesse,plug in and run,i have also noticed the Porsche 924 & 944 have the same meter, be glad for any help.thanks.richy

it has been done, just found an article on a sd1 and he fitted a xj6 airflow meter :D rich

One of my friend will have soon for sale Jag afm and adjustable ecu for flapper RV8.

The afm is brand new.

The calibration will be different, so you need an adjustable ECU or accept non optimal running.

I'm told you can alter the spring return pressure - so therefore the fuelling. Not tried it, though.
Jaycar do a digital gizmo that interfaces between AFM and ECU and allows you to programme the curve. Sounds just what's needed. I thought so and built one - but never got round to trying it as I went down the MegaSquirt route. Cheap enough to experiment with - and easier to reverse than playing about with springs. ;-)

Yes, it's easy to alter the spring pressure, however the actual curve is laser trimmed into the potentiometer tracks, and you can't change that.

So you could optimise it in one or two points of the curve by altering the spring, but it wouldn't be right on the other points. How far out it would be I don't know.

Also, the Jag AFM has a larger bore than the RV8 one, so the hoses don't fit.
