We're in the crane hire business- but not this bloody big!!!

http://www.kransite.de/borders/titelbil ... 00-9.1.jpg

Will lift 1200 tonnes, with a 100m long main boom, can assume you can also stick another 20-30m on the end if you need to as the fittings are there!

And this is it set up (pre-production) - the one on the right is at least a 60t which is big by normal standards.

Liebherr make some nice bits of machinery, the local contractors where I used to live had a Liebherr dozer and a Liebherr excavator, seeing the excavator parked next to the Samsung excavator they had you can see why the samsungs are so much cheaper.

They sold the samsung and replaced it with a Volvo pretty quickly, and the volvo still was not up to the Liebherrs standard.

Wheres the suspicious geeky looking emoticon when you need it?!

Maybe we need to turn this into a "post the most incredible machine you've seen" thread :?: (for us metal monkeys)

It has a 670bhp main engine, and a 320bhp second one for the jib :P
Apparently these things are normally overpowered and leave the lorries lugging the counterweight standing when they hit the road, what a drag race that would be

That put's my Palfinger 3500 in the shade. There was me thinking that lifting 2.5tons at 12m was good...

I don't have a piccie of the crane, but here's me with the hook off a 1000 ton floating crane, in Singapore some 15 years ago.

Image

That one wasn't big enough, so we got the 1500 ton version in the next day. And all to lift a 60 ton boat that was 200 feet from the waterline.
