gasket sealing on ported heads

I was thinking of investing in a set of ported heads on a n/a 3.9
the ones i have seen the gasket face on the inlet ports is tiny
I was wondering how likely it is to have problems
I will not tolerate any less than 100% reliability
opinions appreciated

My heads have been ported, I port matched the tin valley gasket myself, I then used a very thin smear of silicon sealant on both sides of the gasket. The silicon was left to cure for a few hours before the manifold was fitted.
I'm pleased to report that it has been 100% reliable!

are you talking about the gasket face between adjacent ports?
This is very thin, but from what I can picture in my mind it only leads to the same big hole (the plenum) so it doesn't matter?

Good thinking!
Your statement is true even for the eddy 180 manifold as the two outers from one bank and the two inners from the other bank are fed from the same part of the manifold.

Bear in mind that if you get the ported heads you really should port match the manifold. You can do this yourself but it will take you about two days in total.
