Anything is possible, I looked at putting aJag IRS into a MGB and it is'nt that difficult.

It's probably best to dump the cage and mount the diff on a purpose made crossmember which is made to measure to fit between your frame rails.

Most of the kit to install a Jag IRS is available from Pop Browns Rod shop.

Cost wise you can buy a complete rear end for around £250 in a variety of ratio's with or without LSD, from XJ6/12 and XJS

from memory it came to approx £1800 to purchase all the required parts and have the hubs, brakes and diff reconditioned, you might save some money by doing some of the work yourself if you have the skills and if the unit doesn't need narrowing.

For simplicity keep the live axle, you will need to swap the case over for a HD version, normally found under 2.3s and estates, the Capri LSD will not fit ino your casing, then rebush the axle with poly bushings, the weight penalty for the jag IRS may not be worth the aggro, especially as you will need to narrow it too, Toyots Hilux axle, strong as they come but I suspect the ratios are going to be up in the 4.5s+ and I dont know if you can get different ratios to suit car size wheels, unless the center will swap out from a Town Ace or similar,
Theres is a wealth of cortina knowlege on this site too,and they are not snobbish about doing engine swaps either.
