Spotted this on a trawl of the internet, dont know much about it really, but for people with high perf engines might be worth enquiring,

The idea of having 16 different curves built in sounds like a good idea for the home builder,

I have 123 ignition on 4 cylinder Citroen DS and it made one hell of a difference.
Been trying to get one for a Citroen SM ( Maseratti V6 engine) to see how much better it makes that run.
They aint cheap if I remeber right

Spittie,
My mate has 2 SMs up the side of his workshop, he is meant to be trying to make a good one out of the pair

Probably need a new shell to make a good one, dont they go rotton.

They rot round the suspension points, chassis legs, window frames, doors and front panel round the headlights.
The glass headlight covers crack when you take them off and are hard to get new ones.
The engines are Maseratti not the easiest to work on or cheapest.
But other than that they are great fun.
Self leveling suspension you stick to the road and you dont feel any bumps.
Your mate is up for some torture rebuilding an SM.
There is an American guy selling lots of parts on ebay at the minute.

I'm about to try one in my 1360 Mini. Believe they come from Canada originally. Everything I've read about them in the Mini mags and forums has been postive. They're supposed to be very well engineered and changing advance crurves is a brezze. Aint exactly cheap for a Mini so I guess the intended RV8 may be a bit too pricey. But it would give Mallory a run for its money.

I think they are well worth the bucks. Made a difference to my cars, thinking about putting one on my mini and my Karmann Ghia, well that is if the boss gives me some more pocket money.

Personally I would not bother with that sort of solution and go to a properly mappable 3D system. Might even come out cheaper.

Megasquirt or MJ would probably be better. But it is a cool product all the same.
Id like to see someone adapt a SR20DET TDC/Phase sensor into a Mini Dizzy hole.
It would allow for proper sequential efi ( although that appears to be a difficult one on siamese ports ) and accurate timing control for aftermarket ecu's

Indeed - Great product, but about 5+ years too late. Would only consider that over an EDIS based system if you wanted to retain the classic lucas look...

There is some siamese code finally on the bench for MS. Will be interesting to see how it works out in practice.
(back on topic). It does amaze me how the V8 fraternity in general have been much slower to embrace 3D ignition compared to the 4pot world. I can only guess that it is because small engines need every last HP you can squeeze out of them.

I've just fitted the 123 Ignition to my MGB V8 roadster, the idle is much smoother than previously, ....it's going on the rolling road shortly, so I should be able to compare performance shortly.
