Ask and ye shall find :D

Be careful with the effective diameter as it's not your balls you should be measuring with

Ian,

Only ever lurked on this interesting forum.

I think I have a spare new March serp pulley:

http://www.marchperf.com/index.html

They clear powder coat excluding the belt seating area so no polishing required.

If you've not sorted yourself out and want one to look at/ reverse engineer I'd be happy to drop it off.

It would be nice to convert the RV8 to full serp.

Phil

I have spare (well not currently being used) serp pulleys, plus I have the 3.5 group a Ali-pulley and water pump pulley, you could use to copy, if I can have a set at cost ;)

Any of you know the diameter of the water pump pulley on a late serp type rover?

The waterpump pully is 143mm overall diameter. The diameter that the belt rides on is 132mm.

In the illustration that was posted of "Pulley Types and Profile Goove", our pulleys are type PK and have a .140" or 3.56mm pitch between the grooves.

I have a TR8 4.0L with intermediate front cover, serp pully set up. Last weekend I made an aluminum pulley for the alternator. Using 3"dia stock I was able to make the pulley 7% larger than stock size. The available steel alt pulleys are either 52mm or 67mm.; mine new one is 71mm.

The weight of the alt pulleys are: 52mm 10.5oz, 63mm 17.0oz, my alum 71mm 6.9oz. My alum pulley is machined to the same exact dimensions of the steel pulleys, except for the outside diameters. Alum is 1/3 as dense as steel. Some of the Rover pulleys are molded from Nylatron.

My camera is lousy, but here is the photos:

There is a "high performance" crank pulley available for these engines?? Seems like I saw one somewhere. What is the advantage?? My TR8 is just high performance, not a racecar.

Here is a picture of the TVR "bearing" that I used to replace the power steering pump in my setup. Also the Rover belt part# ERR 5267 1850mm long:
