Does anyone know the size of the thread of the oil level alarm on the rover 3.5 SD1 sump. Its fitted it to an engine thats already in the car so cant go to a nuts and bolts company.
The alarm itself is missing, dont want to buy and fit one. I just need to blank it off. I've spoken to Rimmer bros who couldn't tell me the size and don't supply the plugs.

Hi, its a sensor for a low oil level indicator which operates a light on the dash. I'll measure the thread & post it on here tomorrow.

Well what can I say. I've been that busy I forgot. After reading this I was tempted to forget permanently but because I said I would get the information I have. Just to make sure you understand, this involved crawling under a car at 7am & half draining the oil to remove it. By the way the thread size is M20 X 1.5.

Glad to have helped. Sorry if I over-reacted. I'm not at my best first thing in the morning.
