Serepentine oil pump

I'm putting a short serpentine front end on my 5.0 and I was just checking the state of the oil pump. Removed the pump cover, everything ok but noticed an arrow on the inner gear, like a timing mark to me. Can't find a timing mark on the outer gear. Does this type of pump need to be timed when refitting it.
Many thanks for any info,
Simon

NB! I have no direct experience of this but have just had a look at the manual.
It seems the gears will only fit on the crank one way due to the woodruff key. The manual says to make alignment marks on the inner & outer gears only if they are removed from the timing cover.
If your gears haven't been removed/replaced then you don't need to worry about alignment marks.

Thanks for the info. Problem is that the gears were removed, I know from experience that vauxhall pumps had a similar arrow on the inner and a dot stamped on the outer for alignment purposes but there is no sign of any on the outer ring, my inner ring has three different key positions aswell.

I've had another look at the manual. It recommends that the dismantler makes "alignment marks" so from that I would infer there are no factory marks on the gears (illustration just shows a "scratch" across the three gears). I would guess that, apart from wear patterns, there is no proble with the gears going back in any order.
